As Doctor of Chemistry, she dedicated most of her professional career to research at prestigious centers such as the Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas in Madrid and the University of Oxford until she joined Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2005. Her field of study is organic chemistry, more specifically the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and their interaction with biological targets. She is a professor of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Thermodynamics and Chemical Kinetics in the Biotechnology, Pharmacy, and Human Nutrition and Dietetics bachelor’s degrees. She actively collaborates on developing new active teaching methodologies such as IBL (inquiry-based learning) and OSPE (objective structured practical examination).
